Fundraising round up
Chris Duffy was kind enough to offer to organise a hashtag speed quiz evening for the Trust on the second Friday in August. It was a simple, fun phone based quiz. Plenty of supporters came down to enjoy themselves on the night, especially the winners from Chorley FC Community Foundation, who took the top prize of seats in the 1883 lounge! They will be enjoying that prize at the Barrow game next month.
The event raised £150, thanks to those who attended and the sponsors who donated prizes, including ClipnClimb World. We certainly plan to repeat this event, and if you like quizzes then keep an eye out for our Christmas 50/50 cash prize quiz in early December.
Another event held earlier this month which we’d like to mention was the programme fair. Thanks to the hard work of Ian Wilson and Matt Bagot among others, the Trust benefited to the tune of £170.
We’re always keen to hear from anyone who wants to put a fundraising event on. So if you have always wanted to be a gig promoter or something, then get in touch with us at @cfcst or email email@example.com
Speaking of email, we were delighted to read a message from Simon Clegg, one of our members, the other day. Simon runs Maplewood Property Letting and Management, based in Chorley, and he has kindly offered to donate to us 10% of the income his business will get from a new venture generating sales leads for property related businesses such as electricians and kitchen fitters. We’d like to thank Simon very much for this, and of course encourage anyone reading who works in the property industry to take a look at the scheme.
Of course, we raise this money for the purpose of supporting Chorley FC. As part of the sponsorship package we took at at the start of the season, we’ll be one of the sponsors of the Ebbsfleet match. We’ll be passing the seats in the 1883 lounge that come with the package on to our members and volunteers, as we usually do.
In more sponsorship news, we have continued our support of Chorley FC Women by becoming their Match Day sponsor for this season . This follows on from last season, when we raised £1500 for the women through our pledges scheme.
This time around we are dedicating the pledges money to ground improvements at Victory Park. Our newest pledger is Stephen Catterall, who has donated money through pledges for several years now. He will give £1 per goal Chorley score this season. If you’d like to join him in helping us to improve our wonderful old ground, please make your pledge at http://cfcst.org/pledges or tweet your pledge to @cfcst
