An exciting time to Be Part Of It!
By now Trust members and the wider Chorley community will be aware of the proposed deal between Chorley Council and the owners of Victory Park that will see the Council take ownership of the famous old ground. It is believed the deal could see Chorley Football Club finally be granted security of tenure at the ground.
With a long term lease on Victory Park in prospect, ambulance thoughts would naturally then turn to the ownership of Chorley Football Club Ltd. The club is currently owned by Chorley Sporting Club Ltd, order whose two shareholders are Simon Robinson and Vicky Nicholson of Kevill’s solicitors in the town. This information is detailed in documents held by Companies House and was announced by Chorley Football Club on their website on 4th March in accordance with new National League Rules on declaring club ownership.
Chorley FC Supporters Trust believes the future of the football club is best served by an ownership structure that puts the football club and the community at the very heart of its operation. There are a number of avenues that can be pursued by the directors in order to achieve this. Rest assured that we have made clear our desire to be part of any discussions based on the future ownership model for Chorley Football Club.
All this comes with our 2016 AGM just over five weeks away. The deadline for nomination forms from those interested in joining the board of Chorley Supporters Trust is April 7.
We are particularly keen to hear from any members or supporters that feel they could offer time, web skills and expertise to the Trust and the Football Club in the coming weeks, months and years. In particular, those with a background in business, company law or social enterprise would be especially welcome. We are also eager to recruit more volunteers to our match day, maintenance, publicity and events teams as we look to further enhance the contribution we make to the already successful running of the football club.
Having laid some solid foundations in 2015/16 , Chorley FC Supporters Trust is ready to build on its recent momentum and good working relationship with the board of Directors at the football club to secure a sustainable, successful and long term future for our club at the heart of the Chorley community. This is a unique opportunity for people with drive, enthusiasm and commitment to make a positive contribution to the town in general and the football club in particular; To create a legacy at Victory Park that can be transmitted from generation to generation.
