News roundup from Lowestoft home match
Events and fundraising
Our next event will be a Race Night in the Social Club on Friday 4th March. The last one was a great evening out, sales and this one promises to be bigger and better. The first race is at 8, but doors open at 7:30. It’s just £5 per person, and you can bring your kids for free. Everyone gets a hotpot supper too, which makes it a great value family night out. Get your tickets from James Wilson, who stewards at home matches, or call him on 07519 916894, or email firstname.lastname@example.org
A couple of weeks after that, some Trust members will be accompanying Matt Parry of Twincess on a sponsored ride to the FC United away match on Easter Saturday. The ride is to raise awareness of World Down Syndrome Day, and funds raised will go into our Fan Ownership Fund. Please consider sponsoring us as we aim to beat the target of raising £10000 for the season. You can find out more at localgiving.com/cfcst
Did you know that the Supporters Trust runs a “pledge for Chorley” fundraiser? You can sponsor pretty much anything that takes your fancy for each match. Many people have gone for the simple options, such as £1 for each goal Chorley score, or £2 for each clean sheet. There are lots of more unusual choices though.
You might have noticed a sudden spate of people heading the ball back from the crowd onto the pitch at the start of this season. That was because Trust membership secretary Jue Vass pledged £10 each time it happened! Other odd pledges include £5 for Adam Roscoe scoring an overhead kick, which has not happened so far this season although he has certainly scored some famous screamers in the past.
Last season we raised some £500, and this season so far the total is over £700 already with 12 games still to come. If you want to find out more, have a look on magpiesinspace.co.uk, or come along to the Trust meeting on Wednesday.
