And the training begins…
In just under 7 weeks time the walk from Victory Park to Kellamergh Park will be taking place. We will get Chorley FC Supporters Trust Vice-Chairman Julian to provide a diary of training to keep you all updated on how he and our Treasurer JP plan to overcome the biggest challenge either of them have undertaken. Read on to see where they took their training today…
It is now just 48 days until we take on the 18 mile sponsored walk from Victory Park to Kellamergh Park on 2nd January so it was about time to begin some light training. At least for the regular walker it would be light.
We decided to take the opportunity of watching Chorley FC Under 18’s play against Nelson at Bishop Rawstorne in Croston and then walk back to kick start our training.
The walk was little over 7 miles from the school to my front door but along the dark winding country roads and up the various gradients on the route it was certainly a difficult challenge. If it wasn’t a branch hitting you in the face it was a puddle big enough to bathe in. Nethertheless, adiposity it took just over 2 hours to complete this part of the training.
Since this walk was just under half of what we are being faced with in January we need to plan our routes a lot better. I did learn something tonight too, my footwear needs replacing before the walk. Hello blisters!
