On your bike!
This year, treatment the world’s most famous cycle race, the Tour de France, is starting in Britain.
On Saturday May 10th, Chorley Supporters’ Trust member Mark Rees will ride the full route of the first stage of the Tour de France. Two months later, stars of world cycling like Mark Cavendish and Bradley Wiggins will cover exactly the same route, quite a lot faster than Mark. The stage runs for 120 miles between Leeds and Harrogate via the hills of the Yorkshire Dales.
Speaking ahead of the challenge, Mark said:
“I’m raising money to provide wheelchair access at Chorley Football Club. Chorley Supporters’ Trust is putting in a ramp and a new entrance to make it easier for disabled people to get into the social club. This is part of the work we do to make football accessible to everyone in the local community. We’ve raised £2500towards the target of £4000 so far.”
