Position: Board Member

Name: Pete Thompson

Bio:

Born in Chorley, and a lifelong supporter of Chorley FC, I am an author, journalist and news editor and have written articles on a wide range of subjects. Amongst my regular commissions is the compilation of occupational question sets for UK and global companies and organisations who provide ongoing training and education for employees. In this role I have completed work for many IT, telecommunications, pharmaceutical, transport and utilities companies, as well as for numerous banks, building societies, high street retailers and organisations and authorities such as the NHS and UK Government departments. I am the author of the ‘Going Up! Going Up! Chorley FC’ book, commemorating the club’s promotion from the National League North in2019.

In addition to my writing work I am director of a Community Interest Company (CIC) called Community Film, Art & Media. This company has organised several arts projects and was involved in the making of a short film – Souls Migrated – which won an award at the 2018 Bolton Film Festival.

My previous experience includes working in the pharmaceutical industry as a Clinical Trials Coordinator, helping with the development of new medicines, and I have been a senior manager for a Clinical Research Organisation (CRO) in the UK and director of another based in Singapore.

I spent the first four years of my life in Adlington but subsequently lived elsewhere in the UK and abroad, returning to the North West seven years ago. I joined the CFCST board in early 2019.
