Lawson Dauer

So how does a Manchester lad (a one-time Manchester City fan, no less) and cynical about modern football end up on the CFCST board? Well firstly meet & then marry a lass who was born in Chorley. Then, as a surprise, take your Chorley born wife to Victory Park for a trip down memory lane. Something magical happened that day against Nantwich – I fell back in love with football.

Fast forward a few years and by now Sue & I are living in Chorley. Sue thinks to move from Manchester is to be closer to her family. I KNOW that the move is for me to be closer to the football club.

Three years on & the world is in the middle of a pandemic. A trip into town has me bumping into a fellow Chorley FC fan. I hear tales of painting and drilling down at Victory Park. I can’t do that (I need an instruction book to use a screwdriver) but am, after my Civil Service career, a reasonable organiser & planner, thus…

…here I am, ready to work hard for the club I love in any way that the trust can use me. And while I can’t promise miracles I will happily chat to anybody about Chorley FC.
