Trust investment in Chorley FC brings two new supporter directors
Following a series of discussions between Chorley FC Supporters Trust and the current custodians of Chorley Football Club, a deal has been struck that will see both parties working together in a bid to further the ambitions of the club. The move sees Chorley Supporters Trust make an initial investment of half of the Fan Ownership Fund into Chorley Football Club. With the club flying high in the league, this is an exciting time to form a partnership to move the club forward. As the first step, Trust chair Dave Tindall and board member Chris Blackburn will join the football club board as full directors.
Trust chair Dave Tindall said: “We have been talking to the football club for some time now about how we can work together. This is a great place to start, and where better to continue working things out than around the boardroom table?”
The Trust will become a shareholder in the club, and we will release further details of this once they have been finalised.
Chorley FC Chairman Ken Wright said: “I’m delighted that we’re going to work in partnership with the Supporters Trust to maintain the momentum generated over recent seasons. The football club has gone from strength to strength on the field and our community profile is very strong. We recognise that David and Chris bring strong business skills to the board and we’re keen to start working together.”
The next Trust meeting is on Wednesday 6 February at 8pm in the Social Club. This is an exciting new chapter at Victory Park. Our members will all soon become part owners of Chorley Football Club via the Trust and we want to develop plans for working together in the future.
