£500 donated to youth development
The youth development squad has received a £500 cash boost from the Supporters Trust, the first fruits of the pledges scheme. Club Chairman Ken Wright and Chris Stammers, the course director of the youth development setup, took delivery of a giant cheque from Dave Tindall of the Trust on the pitch before the Salford match.
The cheque is the first instalment of a planned £3000 funding programme from your Supporters Trust over the course of this season. We’re aiming to get the new youth development setup off to the best possible start.
Making the presentation was Dave Tindall, vice-chair of the Supporters Trust, who said:
“We’re all about working with the football club and the local community, so it makes perfect sense to support youth football at Chorley.”
“We’re aiming to raise £3000 for youth development this season through our pledges scheme, where fans pledge to donate cash each time Chorley score a goal or keep a clean sheet. More than thirty fans are taking part, and if we can just get another ten, we’ll be able to raise the full £3000. With all donations going straight to youth development, it’s a fun way to raise cash and help the club.”
“Hopefully we’ll see some local players coming through the development squad into the first team.”
If you’d like to join the pledges and support youth development at Chorley FC, it’s really simple. Just tweet your pledge to @cfcst, email firstname.lastname@example.org or stop by the Supporters Trust table at any home match. And remember, every participant has the chance to win a season ticket for next season.
