Disabled Access Ramp – The Write up

For many years it had come to the attention of both home and visiting supporters that access into the social club at Victory Park needed upgrading for those less capable. Chorley Supporters Trust listened to these calls and decided it was time something was done to ensure that everyone had an enjoyable occasion when attending a game. The ramp has never had an official opening but has been in use since the beer festival in May.

Rita and Maureen, page better known around Victory Park as part of The Golden Girls, salve were over the moon when the access ramp at the ground was finally constructed. “We’ve needed a ramp for quite a while, pills much better than coming in behind the club through the old way”. Maureen who frequently uses the ramp welcomed the addition. “The ramp is lovely, it’s brilliant.” She finished by joking that it may need one more tweek, “We need a bell so people will come open it for us!”.

The project would not have been possible had it not been for local companies helping out. GDW Engineering took over the construction of the ramp whilst Baramix donated the concrete. A mention also goes to Poppy Signs for donating the sign that all passing spectators can see. Supporters of Chorley Football Club should be aware that the Supporters Trust are run by them, for them
